Divorce can turn anyone’s world upside down, especially when it comes
to finances. J. Mattaliano experienced that firsthand when she and her
husband divorced when their daughter was only a few years old. Aside
from having to return to work full-time to make ends meet, she had to
lean on her father to help manage her money.
“The hardest part was learning how to pay bills,” admits Mattaliano. “My ex-husband always took care of paying them, so there was a bit of a learning curve. Fortunately, my dad didn’t raise a dummy, so I wasn’t completely incapable of figuring things out—but he was always there when I needed help.”
